New cooling tower of Metadynea is at the commissioning stage

The new cooling water cycle system will fully provide the resins production with a sufficient amount of water for the process and finished products cooling. The facility is scheduled to be put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2022.

The new cooling water cycle project at Metadynea site in Gubakha proceeded to the equipment commissioning stage.

- In frames of the project, Marley mechanical draft cooling tower and modular pump house are placed on the foundations, all process pipelines are installed, a section of K-7 sewerage network is replaced and additional wells are installed, – says the Director of Metadynea LLC branch in Gubakha Denis Gutauskas. – Pneumatic and hydraulic tests started from September 15. Electrical installation and installation of thermal insulation on pipelines continue after testing.

The general contractor of the project is INSPRO LLC. Total investment in the construction of the facility and infrastructure amounts to more than 200 million rubles.

As a reminder, phenol-formaldehyde resins capacity expansion project has also been completed at Metadynea site in Gubakha (Perm region). Within the project, an additional reactor of 45 cubic meters for plywood phenol-formaldehyde resins production was installed and put into operation, the infrastructure was expanded: a transformer substation, a system for urea unloading and dosing were built, tank park for phenol-formaldehyde and urea-formaldehyde resins storage was expanded, which made it possible to additionally producemore than 18 thousand tons of finished products. Also, during the project aheated area for phenol unloading was expanded and a third phenol unloading station was launched. These facilities ensure prompt unloading, necessary reserve of phenol and wagons downtime reduction. Landscaping of Metadynea LLC site was completed. All works were performed under conditions of operating production facilities.
